Optometrist & Founder

Dr. Ben Giddens graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1985 and opened his Georgetown practice in 1986. Later qualification included an Honours BSC, completion of a course in therapeutic management of ocular disease (Northeastern University) and Ocular Therapeutic certification by the International Board of Examiners in Optometry.

Dr. Giddens practices full scope optometry and values managing a medically-oriented practice. He appreciates being a primary eye care provider to the community and providing treatment for urgent or chronic eye disease such as glaucoma. He also values acting as your agent when referring out for a surgical consult.

On a daily basis, Dr. Giddens finds satisfaction in resolving the optical needs of his patients. Whether it is difficulty with your bifocals, your contact lenses or computer eye strain, he enjoys the challenge.

When not at work, Dr. Giddens likes cooking and seeing the Canadian outdoors, all year round. From a canoe, hiking boots, bicycle or a pair of skis, he likes to bring back stories of adventure to chat about with his patients.
